The Jefferson County Patriots made the journey to Seymour High School to face off against the Eagles on a rainy Tuesday night.

The Lady Patriots took off to a quick lead early in the game.  Outscoring the Lady Eagles 18-5 in the first quarter alone, Jefferson County made it very clear that they did not loose any rhythm during their snow days. The second quarter was just as one-ended as the first.  The Lady Patriots ended the half ahead of the Lady Eagles 40-11.

The second half of the game, the Lady Patriots continued to show the Lady Eagles who exactly was in charge, adding another 17 points in the third quarter alone.  The eagles finally rallied their defense, but it was just too late, as they limited the Lady Patriots to only 5 points in the fourth quarter. In return, Jefferson County kept Seymour at only 5 more points, ending the game with the Lady Patriots emerging with the victory 62-25.

The night was a fantastic comeback for Kaylin Webster, who, along with Tori Griffin, had an impressive 19 points for the evening.  Makaila Woolard also had a great evening with 11 points.

The Jefferson County Boys, on the other hand, took a little more time to put their head in the game. The Eagles took a quick lead early in the first quarter, ending the period on top 14-7.  The second quarter of play began much like the first, with the Eagles extending their lead.  Just when they needed it the most, the Patriots rallied late in the second quarter to bring the score within 3 points, ending the half 25-22.

The second half of play ended up being much more explosive for the Patriots.  Noah Carter, who led in scoring for the night, got 24 of his 29 points during the second half alone.  Jefferson County pulled ahead in the third quarter and never looked back.  After a solid second half showing by the Patriots, the night ended with a Patriots’ win, 64-55.

This game was very different from most, as Danny Bates was limited to only 4 points, and Cameron Gregg was limited to 2.  Noah Carter took the moment to shine, though, scoring 29 points for the evening. The Freshmen of the team stepped up to the challenge, taking the opportunity to show Jefferson County just what the future could hold for the Patriots Basketball Team.

Jefferson County will be hitting the road again Friday Night, as they hop over the county line to Newport to face off once again with the Fighting Cocks.
