Tennessee Valley Fair Receives International Recognition

Fair receives four awards from International Association of Fairs and Expositions

The Tennessee Valley Fair has received four Awards of Distinction in the Competitive Exhibit and Communications categories from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) headquartered in Springfield, MO.

The fair was recognized in one Competitive Exhibit category:

· Category – 1st Place: Outstanding New or Unique Strategy to Increase the Number of Competitive Exhibitors

– 2012 Lego Extravaganza – This free event was open to participants of all ages. Guests were provided Legos and asked to construct an original creation. Awards were presented to the best team and individuals efforts.

The fair was recognized in three Communications categories:

· Category 5c – 1st Place: Outstanding Promotional Advertising – Best Non-Traditional Advertising Effort

– 2012 Wallscape Display in West Town Mall – Displayed from July 30 – September 16, 2012

· Category 9 – 3rd Place: Outstanding Promotional Advertising – Radio

– 2012 Tennessee Valley Fair Radio Ads (8 ads total)

· Category 13 – 3rd Place: Outstanding Promotional Advertising – Media Guide / Press Kit

There are a total of 30 categories in the Communications and Competitive Exhibit awards, each divided into 5 divisions based on annual fair attendance. All entries are evaluated and judged by a team of fair industry leaders from the membership of IAFE which has over 3,000 members internationally. The awards were presented on November 28 at the 122nd annual IAFE convention held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The purpose of the IAFE Awards of Distinction is to foster creativity and ingenuity amongst fairs across the globe and provide recognition for fairs who continually improve and innovate.
