UT Professor & Kentucky Business Woman Found Dead In Hot Tub In Gatlinburg

A University of Tennessee Professor and Kentucky Business Woman were found dead in a hot tub early Saturday morning in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Jon Levin, who taught in the Department of Physics and Astronomy for the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Myra Smith-Findell of Corbin were discovered at Gatlinburg Falls Resort, 820 Resort Way in Gatlinburg, by Gatlinburg Police. According to information provided by the City, the cause of death is unknown and autopsies are being performed. However, no foul play is suspected at this time. The result of those autopsies is expected to take around thirty days.

According to spokeswoman for the University of Tennessee Lola Alapo, Levin had been a faculty member at the University of Tennessee since 1993. Information from Smith-Findell’s obituary provided that she leaves behind her husband, Ronald Findell, a daughter and grandchild.
