Tennessee Representative Jeremy Faison to run for re-election.

Six years ago, the good people of Cocke, Jefferson, and Greene Counties sent me to Nashville to speak on their behalf-something I consider one of the greatest honors of my life. I have had the privilege of listening to your concerns, your needs, and the issues which you are most passionate about. Meeting so many great people across our district is at the top of my enjoyments in life. Each thing that you have shared with me has helped shaped policy for this state. Here are a few things I have heard from you over the years, and the good news I have to report:

· Jobs: Under current leadership, Tennessee is considered to be the most welcoming state for jobs in America. We have provided the local economic development and county commission with the tools they need to promote our communities to industry. Since 2011, more than 156,000 new private sector jobs have been created across the state.

· Debt: Tennessee does not need to drown in reckless spending and debt. We spend less than we take in and we save for the future, with nearly $700 million in our state’s “Rainy Day” fund in case we experience another economic downturn in the future.

· Public education: Tennessee is a leader in high test scores across the nation. Tennessee students were recently recognized having the fastest improving academics in the nation, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress.

· Invest in higher education: We have provided every single graduating senior in our state the opportunity to go to junior college or vocational school, debt free, through the Tennessee Promise program.

· Preserve the 2nd Amendment: We are now ranked in the top five states in the country for firearm freedom.

· Fighting meth and the prescription pill problem: Tennessee is leading the charge for the successful drug court program that has been proven to help those addicted to drugs, especially our veterans that sometimes fall on to hard times after leaving service.

· Close to home: Hwy 411, Hwy 321, State Route 92 bridge replacement, and the Greeneville bypass are a few of the projects that I consistently encourage . We are finally seeing the fruits of this labor. When these roads are completed, it will be a huge shot in the arm for industry progress.

Each week, I connect state leaders with local leaders. My office answers calls daily helping constituents navigate the bureaucratic red tape of state government, and we are winning small battles every day for the people of Cocke, Jefferson, and Greene Counties.

Thank you so much for your past support, I would be so honored to have your support this year in the upcoming election. Please remember that my door is always open-I hope you will reach out to me with your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions as we discuss and debate legislation this year in Nashville. Tennessee, with your help, can continue to be the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family.
