The Jefferson County Clerk’s office unveiled a new self-service kiosk at the Jefferson City Community Center on Monday. The kiosk allows for fast, convenient vehicle registration for only citizens of Jefferson County. The speedy machine was installed inside the community center on Thursday evening, and had its first use early the next morning.

To use the kiosk, residents must scan state renewal or vehicle registration then choose the personal setting and apply the appropriate debit or credit card information. The clerk’s office would like to explain that all cards can be used with the exemption of American Express, and no cash will be held within the machine.

Jefferson County Clerk Frank Herndon expressed his thanks to the city for how gracious they have been throughout the entire process. This kiosk is the 7th renewal kiosk of its kind in the state of Tennessee. It is also just the 2nd renewal kiosk located outside of the Clerk’s office in Tennessee. The machine is operational during the community center’s business hours Monday through Friday from 5a.m. -9p.m., Saturday 8a.m. –9p.m., and Sunday 1p.m.-6.p.m.
