The lake was shakin’ and the dike was rockin bluegrass style, as Shakin’ the Lake 2016 came to town. This year, in addition to the fantastic display of fireworks that always illuminate Douglas Lake and the festivities at The Point Marina, the town side of the lake had some new things to offer. Red, White and Bluegrass, a town side entertainment venue that ran adjacent to Shakin’ the Lake, provide music from Pop Seals and the Open Range band prior to the fireworks display.

Across the bridge, things were hopping as usual, with music, food and pyrotechnics to delight the crowd, all brought courtesy of The Point Marina. Shakin’ the Lake has become a hallmark event that is synonymous with summer fun and fireworks. As is customary, Shakin’ the Lake was held on July 3rd and served as the kick off to the celebration of Independence Day.
