Denise Fair is announcing her candidacy for a seat on the Jefferson County School Board, representing School Board District 2/County Commission Districts 5, 6, and 7. Born in Strawberry Plains, Denise graduated Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Communications in 1997, and has served the citizens of Jefferson County for the past nine years at the Jefferson County E-911 in dispatch and as the mapping coordinator. In addition, Denise volunteers as the head coach of cross country at Jefferson Middle, and has resurrected the once-endangered program with hopes of including runners from Jefferson Elementary in the upcoming season.

A mother of six, Denise is heavily invested in the welfare of the Jefferson County School System, as her children are currently enrolled at Jefferson Elementary, Jefferson Middle, and Jefferson County High School. She is a member of Arrowhead Church, and her family is deeply rooted in the community where they serve in various capacities: Denise is married to Seargent Chris Fair, a law enforcement officer for the Town of Dandridge, and she is the daughter of Rocky Melton, a city council member serving the people of Jefferson City. Denise’s aspirations for school board include making Jefferson County an educational “powerhouse” to benefit current students and generations to come. She encourages citizens to participate in the election process and to be active and aware of educational issues that impact the students and employees of the Jefferson County School System.
