Jefferson County Freshman Orientation Set for Wednesday August 3, 2016

Freshman Orientation is Wednesday, August 3, 2016. This is a required day of school for all freshmen in Jefferson County. Students are encouraged to wear red, white and/or blue to show Patriot Pride because the theme for the day is The Patriot Way. Listed below are some highlights:

· Buses will be available at the four middle schools for pick up only.

· Buses will depart the middle schools promptly at 8:35.

· Parents may drop students off at the Patriot Academy at 8:30.

· Parents must pick students up at 3:15. Buses will not run in the afternoon.

· Students will not need to bring any classroom materials. The only thing students might need is money for breakfast/lunch. Students may also bring their lunch. All other materials will be provided.

· Students will receive class schedules and meet teachers.

· Students will be given class specific supply lists and other important class information.

· Breakfast and lunch will be served. Students can add money to lunch accounts today or students can bring their own lunch.

· Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9:15. We will serve sausage biscuits, pop tarts, raisons, orange juice, and milk.

· Lunch will be served from 11:30-12:45. Students can choose either Big Daddy’s Pizza or Riot’s Chicken Sandwich. Both choices will include leafy green salad, baby carrots, pineapples, assorted apples, and milk. Students may also bring their own lunch.

· The day will end at 3:15. Parents must pick up their student at this time. No return buses will be running at the end of the day. Boys will be picked up out front in the normal bus lane and girls will be picked up on the side of the building which is our normal student pick up lane. If you are picking up multiple students, you will need to go to our normal pick up lane around the building.

· An Open House will be schedule in September.

We look forward to seeing you on August 3rd. Remember, the dress code will be in effect on this day. The Dress Code can be viewed on the JCHS webpage in the student handbook section. Remember, August 3rd is a required day of school for all freshman students. See you there!
