The 2016 Jefferson County Fair is in Town

The Jefferson County Fair has kicked off their 2016 season and the midway has never shone brighter. Thursday was opening evening at the fairgrounds but it was the weekend that really brought in the crowd. August is always a highly anticipated month in Jefferson County because it brings one of the year’s favorite events. The theme for the 2016 season is Creating New Beginnings which is a nod to the recent push to revamp the ten day event. This year, the Jefferson County Fair will be showcasing local talent and they began Saturday evening with a youth talent contest. Next Saturday, August 20^th, American Rising Star contest will be held at the Finley Stage and, like the Youth Talent Contest, it will feature cash prizes for the top three contestants. Viewing of exhibits and livestock competitions, as well as the nightly big arena shows, guarantee that there is something for everyone at the 2016 Jefferson County Fair. The Jefferson County Fair will be open nightly August 11-20^th, 2016.
