Dandridge Christmas Parade 2012

Jefferson County had its fourth and final Christmas Parade last weekend as the Town of Dandridge hosted its annual parade. Local fishing legend Ott Defoe served as Grand Master of the Parade and followed the Sheriff and Dandridge Police Chief in leading a stream of cars, floats, tractors, horses and, of course, First Responders, through the streets of Dandridge and into the Historic Town Square. The parade path was lined with children of all ages as they awaited the sight of Santa. The Shriners brought out the little cars and dancers from the East Tennessee Dance Academy and Maury Middle School gave parade watchers a great show. Children from the First United Methodist Church, as well as other groups, sang Christmas songs. Local football players and cheerleaders were on hand to wave to the crowd and throw candy to waiting kids. Santa took a few hours off from his busy schedule to make an appearance and then he was off again to the North Pole to prepare for his important Christmas Eve trip!
