First Baptist Church of Jefferson City welcomed students back with a banner fashioned in Carson-Newman’s native orange and blue. The first week back will also be filled with activities encouraging students to interact and get involved in the Carson-Newman community. Planned events include, but are not limited to, Lemonade Brigade, Mudball, Movie on the Lawn, and a candlelight service. Excitement is in the air on campus, as students and faculty are ready to see what the 2016-2017 academic year holds.

Everyone in the community is reminded to use caution when driving around and on campus, as foot traffic will be up with students returning. Local stores and businesses around campus will likely also have more traffic than usual. Carson-Newman University was founded in 1851.
