Community and city leaders of White Pine came together for their first annual Pine Fest Saturday afternoon. The event originally came to the town several years ago in trial, but never became a staple of the community. Last year, when the town celebrated its 100 year anniversary, many felt it was time for Pine Fest to have a revitalization.

Organizers and leaders of Pine Fest wanted to bring the small but proud community together to celebrate its rich history. Over the past several months, organizers created a Facebook page asking members of the community to share pictures of their lives within the town. The response was enormous. The pictures were collected and put on display in the town’s library for all to enjoy as the focal point of Saturday’s Pine Fest event.

More than 80 vendors, along with local churches and merchants, joined in the festivities in the middle of downtown White Pine. The event also featured crafts, live music from several local bands, and a plethora of food. Special organizer Alyson Susong especially wanted to thank the community for their continued support and participation in the event. The people of White Pine look forward to events like this continuing, in hopes of growing the community’s history for generations to come.
