Added Protection For Those Who Protect And Serve

Town of Dandridge Police Department recently received enhanced protective gear. Dandridge Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to purchase the armor and helmets several weeks ago, citing a concern for Officers in the local department following several incidents at the State, local and National level. Dandridge Police Chief Williams was on hand as Town of Dandridge Mayor George Gantte and Town Administrator Melissa Peagler view the new equipment, which has already been distributed to officers.

Of the recent purchase, Mayor Gantte said “The Town of Dandridge is very appreciative of our law enforcement officers. As both the Mayor of Dandridge and as a citizen, I am very concerned about the safety of our officers, who put themselves on the front line every day to protect our community. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen were united in their desire to provide enhanced protective gear for our officers and citizens of the Town have been very supportive of the decision to purchase personal armor plates and helmets for our Police Department.”
