The streets of the Historic Town Square in Dandridge were overflowing with kilted clans, as the Scots-Irish Festival arrived on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Bagpipes filled the air and the smell of authentic fare wafted through the crowd, as folks lined up to check out the vendors and catch up on the local Scots-Irish history.

One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Scots-Irish Festival puts a spotlight on the heritage and ancestry of those that settled in the area generations ago. As is customary, the festival’s arguably most memorable, haunting moment is the closing, which features a lone bagpiper on the Dike. Kelly Shipe preformed this year’s closing, leaving event goers looking forward to the next time the Scots-Irish Festival step dances its way to Town.
