Trick-or-Treat Destinations for Halloween

Halloween has undergone an evolution of candy collecting through the years. In years past, parents ushered kids from house to house either by walking or driving to familiar friends. Now, there is a plethora of events to help make the most of your trick-or-treating experience. Here are a list of events around the area to ensure a perfect Halloween sugar rush.

Knoxville is hosting several family friendly events around the city that take place on and before Halloween. This way if you are looking for something spooky to get you in the mood of the season, but don’t want to make the drive on the actual night, you can have the best of both worlds. The Knoxville Zoo is hosting Boo at the Zoo from October 20-23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. General admission is $9 per person, with children 4 and under getting in for free. The event has free parking and will feature trick or treating, music, games, and more.

The city is also hosting trick or treat in the cave at Cherokee Caverns. The event will be held from October 21-31 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. General admission for the event is $8, with kids 2 and under getting in for free. This event also has free parking and is stroller and wheelchair friendly. Activities include food, free trick-or-treating, and activity stations.

Pigeon Forge is hosting Halloween at the Island from 5 to 9 p.m. The event is family-friendly and will take place on October 29th. The Pigeon Forge Community Center is also holding a trick-or-treating event. Organizers would like to remind the community that it is a non-scary event, so it is safe to bring younger children. The trick-or-treating will be held on October 27th.

Looking for something to do a little closer to home? The city of Morristown is hosting Boofest on October 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will take place at Fred Miller Park, and parents are reminded that it is a safe trick-or-treating event and admission is free. Looking for something to do after tucking the kids into bed? The Morristown Theatre guild is hosting its 2nd annual Halloween Masquerade Ball on October 29th from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Rose Center. Participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween best. Tickets are $15 per person, and $25 per couple. Morristown will also be hosting Trick or Treat downtown on Halloween Night from 6 to 7 p.m.

Dandridge will be hosting its own Halloween downtown trick or treating event. The event will take place on Halloween night in Downtown Dandridge beginning in the early afternoon until dark. Families are reminded that this is a safe event, and that multiple businesses will be participating. Several area churches around the community will also be set up around town to provide alternative trick-or-treating. The Jefferson County Fairground will be hosting their own event on October 29, starting at 5pm.

Wherever you decide to visit for your tricks or your treats, have a safe and happy Halloween.
