TVA Sites Closed Because of Fire Danger

With more than 1,200 fire raging across the southeast, TVA is taking precautionary steps and closing recreation areas that are at high risk (or that have already experienced fire).

Yesterday, news sources revealed that there are now more than 1,200 wildfires burning across the southeastern United States. That includes many inside the TVA service region.

To help combat the problem and protect the safety of the public, TVA has announced a burn ban on all of its public lands. All open flames are prohibited—including campfires, barbeques and smoking. Read more here.

In addition, several of TVA’s public areas in the highest fire-danger zones have been closed until further notice. Conditions are being monitored daily, and areas may be added or removed from this list as needed to protect the public. We will update this list regularly, so check back.
