The Jefferson County Rescue Squad met with two young ladies to receive a special donation on Wednesday evening. 10-year-old Hannah and her cousin Kelsey got the idea to make the donation at the Baneberry Christmas Market on December 3rd.

Hannah and Kelsey decided to go above and beyond and raise money to make a donation to the Red Cross. The cousins decided to hold a bake sale to help achieve their goal, and ended up gathering enough funds to make a $200 donation.

Farmers Insurance of Morristown representative Mindy Stokley and her husband were moved by the girls’ act and decided to match their donation. All together, both Farmers and Hannah and Kelsey raised $400 for the Red Cross.

Jefferson County Rescue Squad were happy for the girls’ donation, and to see their efforts to help the community. Organizers hope that others will be inspired by Hannah and Kelsey and help out in their own communities.
