ALVIN A. TRENTHAM

ALVIN A. TRENTHAM, age 88, of New Market, TN passed away at 8:50 p.m. on April 2, 2017 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He played semi-pro baseball as a pitcher, coached youth baseball in Jefferson City for several years, and was very active in setting up the current Magnavox field while employed at Magnavox. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. He was retired from North American Phillips with 38 years of service, and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force with the rank of Sergeant, and served in the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by parents, Lester Trentham and Dovie Trentham Francis; brothers, James Eugene Trentham and L. B. Trentham. He is survived by his son, Gary (Susie) Trentham of Talbott; grandson, Josh Trentham of Talbott; granddaughter, Jillian (Evan) Clabo of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Brady and Bryn Clabo; brother, Charles Trentham of Newport; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Jefferson Memorial Hospital and staff for the kind care given during Alvin’s sickness. The family will celebrate Alvin’s life with a visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society or Noah’s Arc.
