Letter To The Editor

Submitted By Anjanae Brueland, Director, Jefferson City Public Library

The American Library Association states “National Library Week (April 9 – 15, 2017) is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all. The theme for 2017 National Library Week is ‘Libraries Transform’ Olympic soccer gold medalist and World Cup champion Julie Foudy will serve as this year’s National Library Week Honorary Chair.”

Jefferson City Public Library (JCPL), a member of the Jefferson County Public Library System, would like to take this week to highlight the incredible staff serving our community: JCPL Library Assistants, Brenda Jarnigan and Alexa Lee along with support from Joyce Thomas and Jan Frederick.  These women endeavor to provide the desired information, be it in the form of a book, download, or community resource, in the time that the community member needs it.  They actively listen, providing suggestions and feedback, so that library programs and services reflect our community.

You ladies are tops and transform our library service.

Thank you Brenda, Alexa, Joyce and Jan.

Sincerely,

Anjanae Brueland

Director
Jefferson City Public Library
