Jefferson County Commission Personnel Committee Selects Interviewees for Veterans Service Officer

The Jefferson County Personnel Committee met Thursday, April 27, 2017. The meeting opened up with the approval of minutes from the April 20th meeting, which were approved in a motion by Beeler (2nd Carmichael). Next on the agenda was a review and discussion of resumes for the position of Veterans Service Officer. In total, six resumes were examined, with the committee paying particular interest to candidates’ previous involvement in veteran service and management skills. Out of five committee members, four have previous military experience, so candidates’ military careers and advancements were also closely scrutinized.

After thorough review, the committee chose three outstanding resumes and a fourth alternate in a motion by McGraw (2nd Carmichael), which passed. The committee agreed that a final decision on their recommended candidate would be made on May 4th, following interviews earlier that day. The interview order was selected with a random drawing. A final motion by Carmichael was appropriately seconded and passed, adjourning the meeting.
