CAROLYN DWYLA PENNINGTON SEXTON

CAROLYN DWYLA PENNINGTON SEXTON, age 73, went to be with her Jesus on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. She was a member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church in White Pine, TN. She was born in October of 1943 in Holmes County, FL. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was strongly dedicated to her Christian faith. After marrying her school sweetheart, they eventually settled in Morristown, TN, where she continued her mother and grandmother’s love of flowers and decorating, having owned and operated Roseland Florist for several years with her parents. She was preceded in death by parents, Austin and Carrie Pennington; father-in-law, Marion Sexton ; and brother-in-law, Coleman Sexton. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray Sexton; son, Ken (Ginger) Sexton; and daughter, Kim (Mark) Franklin; grandchildren, Mirranda (Bill) Humbard, Kayla Sexton, Carrie Ruth Franklin, and Elijah Franklin; great-grandson, River Humbard. She is also remembered by her sister, Sonja Wilson of White Pine; brother, Steve (Wanda) Pennington of China Grove, NC; mother-in-law, Ruth Sexton of Little Mountain, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred (Wyvon) Sexton and Gwen (Wayne) Stanford of Panama City, FL., and Sharon (Joe) Derrick of Little Mtn, SC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad, Rev. Charles Robison and Rev. Steve Sexton officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at White Pine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Holt, Don Brown, Ronny McDaniel, Gary Allsup, Mark Corum and Jay Loveday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
