“One Year in Strawberry Plains Changed My Life Forever” By Ed Brantley : Program at Parrott-Wood Memorial Library

Ed BrantleyParrott-Wood Memorial Library, 3133 W. Old A.J. Hwy. Strawberry Plains, TN, invites the community to meet and greet Mr.  Ed Brantley on May 8, 2017 at 5:00 pm. He will be speaking on of how he escaped a troubled experience in 1962, when he lived in Knoxville, TN. He lived with a local family in Strawberry Plains, where he attended Rush Strong High School for the year. The life lessons he learned, the love shown, and the people who befriended him, changed his life forever.

Mr. Ed Brantley recently retired after over 40 years on the radio. He was on WIVK Radio for 27 years, the host of the show Sound-off, Manager of Citadel Broadcasting, and co-host of the Ed and Bob Show on WNOX. In 2015, Mr. Brantley jointed Meryl 96.5 radio station.
Ed Brantley is serving his first term as 11th District Knox County Commissioner.  Commissioner Brantley has always been active in his community. He started the Coats for the Cold Campaign, the Knoxville Award, and other projects that have helped the citizens of Knox County. Ed has also served with the United Way, the Boys and Girls Club and the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service.
