ROBERT “WAYNE” BLEVINS

ROBERT “WAYNE” BLEVINS, age 80, of Dandridge, TN passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Dandridge, where he was active in the Baptist Men’s Association, the Disaster Relief Team, and Habitat for Humanity. He also drove the bus and was head of the transportation committee, an usher and greeter, and was chairman of the Sunday School committee. Wayne was retired from Roadway Express after 30 years. He was past Master of the McLemore Lodge of Memphis, TN, a veteran of the U. S. Army 101st Airborne Division and served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a skydiving instructor and loved to golf. Preceded in death by parents, Garney Blevins and Lillian Blevins Walters; sister, Betty Blevins, Jewel Walters and Geneva Teeters. He is survived by his wife, Pam Blevins; children, Bob Blevins (Libbi), Rick Blevins (Allison), Louis Blevins (Wanda), and Karen Anderson (Frank); grandchildren, Elizabeth White, Amanda Gravely, Jason, Richard, Wayne, James Blevins, Jessica Bishop and Taylor Bishop; great-grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Kaley, Lila Mae and Fletcher, Brantley and Landon; brothers, James Greer (Belle) and Hunter Greer. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Dandridge with Dr. Justin Terrell officiating. Interment graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dandridge, PO Box 246, Dandridge, TN 37725, or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
