Frank C. Herndon, Jefferson County Clerk, is pleased to announce a second self-service kiosk is now available to renew automobile registrations for Jefferson County residents. The new kiosk is located in the foyer of the White Pine Police Department at 1548 Main Street in White Pine and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The first kiosk was placed in service last year and is located in the Community Center at 1247 N. Hwy 92 in Jefferson City.  The Community Center is open Monday-Friday 5:00AM – 9:00PM,Saturday 8:00AM – 9:00PM, and Sunday 1:00PM – 6:00PM. Both kiosks provide Jefferson County residents the ability to renew automobile registrations without traveling to the Clerk’s office. To use a kiosk, customers must scan their prior registration card or their renewal slip mailed by the state.  Details such as the address or the vehicle cannot be changed at a kiosk. Payment may only be made by credit card, and the renewal will print immediately at the kiosk.

The Clerk’s office will continue to be open on Monday from 8:00AM – 6:00PM, Tuesday-Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM, and Saturday from 8:00AM – 11:00AM. Renewing online and by mail are also still options available to the public. Herndon is thankful to officials from both Jefferson City and White Pine for authorizing installation in their respective facilities. He also appreciates the employees of the Jefferson City Community Center and White Pine Police Department for providing assistance when needed. Herndon is hopeful these kiosks will provide more convenient options for citizens who find it difficult to visit the Clerk’s office during regular business hours. For questions for concerns related to the kiosk, please call the County Clerk’s office at 865-397-2935.
