Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund Announces Grant Opportunities To Benefit Health And Well-being Of Jefferson County Residents

Fund of East Tennessee Foundation provides new grant opportunities

Applications for grants from the Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund (the Fund) of East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) will be available August 10, 2017. Applicant organizations located within or outside Jefferson County whose programs directly benefit the health and well-being of Jefferson County residents are encouraged to apply. Grant information is available online at www.easttennesseefoundation.org. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations or other exempt entities such as public schools and governments/municipalities. One-year grants will be awarded fall 2017.

Funding priorities are intentionally broad so that applicants can exercise creativity and innovation in how they define and address healthcare and well-being issues for Jefferson County residents. Special funding consideration will be given to projects that extend healthcare and well-being opportunities to low-income and underserved residents in Jefferson County.

The Fund was created with funds from the former Jefferson Memorial Hospital. The grants panel comprises individuals whose expertise and knowledge of the healthcare needs and resources in Jefferson County will guide their review and evaluation of submitted applications.

Interested organizations are encouraged to attend a technical assistance workshop which will provide valuable insight into the grantmaking process and the type of programs that the Fund seeks to support. The workshop will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson City Public Library, 108 City Center Drive. Attendance is encouraged but not required for funding consideration.

Grant awards will generally range from $5,000 to $50,000 in support of projects, programs or activities beginning in fall 2017. Applications must be submitted no later than September 15, 2017.
