Town of Dandridge Celebrates Opening of Public Dock

Dandridge Dock Ribbon Cutting 082817 7The Town of Dandridge elected officials and members of community gathered on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 to celebrate the addition on a new pubic dock. Hosting the ribbon cutting for the event was the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. Dandridge Mayor Gantte offered the opening remarks, noting the contribution of several organizations, including the Town Administrator Peagler and staff, Jefferson County Economic Development Alliance, State of Tennessee Economic Development, TWRA and TVA. Current and past members of the Dandridge Board of Mayor and Aldermen were on hand to assist with cutting the ribbon on the Town’s new addition.

Following the ceremony and recognition of those that assisted with/or supported the project, including Jefferson County Mayor Palmieri, Alderman Mike Nelson who offered his professional talents to the project at no cost to the tax payers and Adele Sensing who helped procure grant money to assist with funding, the community enjoyed food, music and a tour of the dock. Also recognized were the members of the Public Works Department for the Town of Dandridge who contributed greatly to the project.

The dock is open for public use, including fishing and lake viewing, and the community is invited to stop by and enjoy the beauty of Douglas Lake via the new dock.
