Vols Top Bulldogs

all-volsThe Volunteer basketball team bounced back from a tough stretch Saturday afternoon topping the Mississippi State Bulldogs.  The Vols’ skid had reached four games, and the lowly Bulldogs were the perfect prescription to what ailed the Vols.  Limping into Thompson Boling Arena with barely little more than a starting lineup of scholarship players, MSU struggled from the tip.  The Vols showcased a faster tempo and improved shooting.  The biggest surprise of the afternoon might have been Armani Moore.  The athletic freshman had double digit rebounds and seemed to spark the team with his energetic play.  Moore has shown he can be a force on the wing and around the basket after struggling to start the year as a reserve point guard.  Jordan McRae and Josh Richardson continued their strong play as primary ball handlers with Trae Golden coming off the bench.

Next up for the Vols is a rematch with Ole Miss.
