The 7th Annual Jefferson County High School’s Skills USA and local businesses celebrated their tribute to local Heros September 19, 2017 by inviting the public to meet and greet with police, fire fighters, ambulance personnel, and many more. The event was catered by Piezano’s Pizza in Dandridge.

Skills USA is a career tech organization where students have the chance to explore occupations such as carpentry, criminal justice, and EMS.

Teacher sponsor, Officer Jim Potts leads the group where once a year the students collect donations from around the community, such as food, cash, and merchandise, and create a dinner as a thank you to local heroes both past and present. EMS from not only Jefferson County, but other counties around the region come and participate in the yearly event.
