COURTNEY MARCEL COTNER, age 33, of Greeneville, TN entered the house of the Lord January 2, 2018. He was a 2003 graduate of Jefferson County High School. Courtney was employed at HiTech Metal Processing Inc as a shift supervisor. Courtney was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mary K. and Kenneth E. Pate; paternal grandfather, Rev. Wilson Cotner; great-grandmothers, Ethel Pate Carter and Reberta Pate; uncles, Vincent Jones and Joseph Cox. Courtney is survived by mother, Vanessa Pate Cotner of Jefferson City; father, Randall (Tawana) Cotner of Morristown; sisters, Britney Cotner of Augusta, GA, April Scruggs of Johnson City; brothers, Bobby Jr. (Jordan and Elliott (Angie) Scruggs, both of Johnson City; grandmothers, Frances Pate of Jefferson City and Hattie Cotner of New Market; nephews, Makyah Setzer of Augusta, Ga, Jaden, Malakai and De’Andre Scruggs of Johnson City; and nieces, Ava and Jaelyn Scruggs; uncles, Steve (Carolyn) Pate of Jefferson City, Tony Cotner of Knoxville, Ronald Cotner of New Market, Todd (Libby) Cotner of White Pine, Tracey Cotner of Strawberry Plains; aunts, Charlene Jones of West Virginia, Arlena Jones of Ohio, Yvette Jones of West Virginia, Rebecca (Alvin) Wilker of Knoxville, Elizabeth (Louis) Hinton of Washington, DC, Estella Foust of Knoxville, Belinda (Johnny) Blevins of Morristown, Donna Williams of Maryland, Rev. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Alex Phipps and Rev. Bernice Osborne officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Westview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside internment service.
