Jessica Chambers Elder is announcing her candidacy for the Office of Trustee in the Jefferson County May 1, 2018, Republican Primary.

Jessica is a lifelong resident of Dandridge. She graduated from Jefferson County High School in 2005. She then financed her own college education earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from East Tennessee State University in Corporate Finance and Investments with a minor in Accounting.

The Jefferson County Trustee is charged with acting as the County’s general banker and treasurer, collecting property taxes, maintaining revenue records and investing surplus funds. Starting in 2016, Jessica has been working within the Jefferson County Finance Department with concentrations in school accounting and Federal Grant Programs. In this position, she has gained valuable knowledge of county financial procedures and accounts while working directly with the Trustee’s office and other county departments. From 2012 to 2016, Jessica served as the Ministry Assistant at First Baptist Church in Dandridge, where she continues to be a life-long member. Her banking career began in 2009 at Mountain National Bank in Sevierville. Jessica gained banking experience with responsibilities including accounting for and security of deposit operations. She also worked on a personal level with customers and small businesses to ensure their financial needs.

Jessica currently serves on Dandridge City Council. Prior experiences include service on several boards including Dandridge Christian Learning Center, Dandridge Recreational Board, Dandridge Planning Commission, and Dandridge Waterfront Planning Committee.

Jessica, her husband, Chad, and their son, Weston, live in Dandridge. Chad is the Director of Information Technology for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. She is the daughter of Mike and Patti (Sams) Chambers; the granddaughter of Barbara Hill Sams and the late Tom Sams, and the late Bill and Carleen Chambers; the great-granddaughter of the late Joe Berry and Marie Sams and the late Earl and Kathleen Hill–all of Dandridge. Jessica is a sixth generation Jefferson Countian.
