Good Friday

Today is perhaps one of the saddest yet most revered days in Christianity. Good Friday is today March 30, 2018. Good Friday marks the beginning of this upcoming Easter weekend leading up to celebrations on Sunday as Easter Sunday.

Just in case you need a refresher Good Friday is the Friday before Easter on which we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross. His death would ultimately symbolize the sacrifice and redemption that all Christians would have for their sins.

For many this day is meant as a time of reflection and fasting to remember Christ and all that he has done. The long upcoming weekend will be filled with celebration such as Easter egg hunts, parades and packed church services on Sunday. Although not seen as a national holiday many will see this upcoming weekend as a strong reminder to finish their Lent season on a strong note.

Happy Good Friday and upcoming Easter weekend from all of us at the Jefferson County Post!
