Roadwork to Cause Complications on I-40 in Knox County This Weekend

Motorists traveling on I-40 in Knoxville should be alert for lane closures that will have an impact on travel again this weekend.

Weather permitting, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 through Monday, April 9, 2018, I-40 West will be reduced to three lanes near Mile Marker 380 as crews perform bridge repairs in this area.  There will be a short period on Saturday that the entrance ramp to I-40 West from Montvue Road at the West Hills exit will be closed as crews perform concrete removal.  During this time, message boards will direct traffic wishing to access I-40 West to North Gallaher View Road to access I-40 West.

Crews will be working around the clock to complete the next phase of these scheduled repairs. Motorists should expect possible delays, adjust travel times, and seek alternate routes.  Motorists should be alert as workers will be present and there will likely be slowed or stopped conditions.  Motorists should use extreme caution through this area.
