Tax Free weekend starts at 12:01 am on Friday July 27th and runs through Sunday July 29th at 11:59 pm. All Tennessee merchants who sell items within the state must participate in the holiday.

This is why during the holiday there is no sales tax on clothing items, school and art supplies or electronics that must be $100 or less.
