Coffey Sworn In As Sheriff

Jeff Coffey Swearing In 1 082518Saturday Morning, Sheriff-Elect Jeff Coffey took the oath of service as he prepares to shift in to his new position.  Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Coffey was sworn in by Judge Duane Slone on a Bible held by his wife Kristi.  The special event was held at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Dandridge, since Coffey will be unable to attend the County Commission Swearing In Ceremony due to State Sheriff’s Training.  Sheriff Coffey will officially take office on September 1st, 2018.

“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve the people of Jefferson County. I  pledge to work hard each and every day to make this county a safe place to live and raise a family”  Sheriff Coffey said in a statement.

Also sworn in as Deputies on Saturday were Ronny Coleman, Randy Poe, Tim Herzog, and Glen Ballanger.
