The Jefferson County Lady Patriots Soccer Team has been fall sports’ little secret.

The girls’ season started back on August 10, against Carter.  They ran away with the victory, and have been on fire ever since.  Most recently, over the past weekend, the Lady Patriots competed against Cleveland, Fairview, and Corbin to bring the Smoky Mountain Cup to Jefferson County.  In the game against Cleveland, they defeated the Lady Blue Raiders 5-0 and then went on the defeat Fairview 6-2. The final game was a victory against Corbin, and the Lady Patriots swept the tournament at Rocky Top Sports World.

Along with the cup, the Lady Patriots have already defeated Girls Soccer powerhouses South Doyle, which they won 5-2, and Farrigut 1-0.  They also sent Elizabethton home with a loss, as Jefferson County defeated them 3-1.

The Jefferson County Lady Patriots Soccer Team is now preparing for their first conference game of the season as they are set to face off against the Morristown West Lady Trojans.  The girls will be traveling to Morristown on Thursday, with hopes that the fire they have started will continue to blaze through Region 1.  The last time the two teams met up, the Lady Trojans came away with the win 1-0, but the Lady Patriots plan to have a different outcome with this meeting.  First whistle blows at 6:00 p.m. at Morristown West High School.
