Fall Fun is Finally Here!

Grab those sweaters and gather all the pumpkin spice drinks that you can find. Fall is officially here in East Tennessee. You might still be a little bummed that summer is over but fear not there is plenty for everyone to do of all ages no matter budget or schedule. What follows is just a start of things to do around the area this fall.

Looking to take the kids to a pumpkin patch? There are plenty to choose from around the area and even many within the county that host a variety of activities. Ballinger Farm and Crazy Maze is located in Jefferson City. This season they are offering hayrides, pumpkin patches, a corn maze and tons of activities for kids of all ages. Ballinger Farm is family oriented with general admission starting at $10 with kids 2 and under free. They are open Friday’s from 6:00 pm through 11:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am through 11:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm through 6:00 pm. So there is plenty of time on the weekend to load up everyone in the car and explore.

Echo Valley farm is also open for their season now through November 4th, 2018. General admission is $10 with kids 2 and under free as well. General admission will get you access to mazes, the playground and free parking. You many also purchase The Works package for $15 which includes mazes, a hayride with free pumpkin, kid’s activities and free parking. The farm does ask that children under the age of 11 be in the company of an adult. The fun is open to the general public Friday’s 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Saturday’s 10:00 am – 11:00 pm and Sunday’s from 1:00 pm -8:00 pm. Echo Valley is also offering group tours for schools during the week 9:00 am -4:00 pm with rates and prices available on their website for those specific times.

If you are looking for a scare to start your Halloween season early there are plenty of haunts around the area to get your fix. Fright Mare Manor is open this season beginning on September 28th, 2018 from 8:30 pm- 10:30 pm. They will be open through all of October with more dates available the closer we get to Halloween with the season ending November 3rd, 2018 from 7:30 -10:30 pm. General admission is $28 at both the door and online. However, there are multiple packages available depending on your level of bravery.

Dead Man’s Farm might also be another choice of fright seekers. It is located in Lenoir City. Screaming season begins for them September the 28 and the 29th with more dates available until Halloween. General admission is $20 with no touch but touch options are available as you go through the property should you choose. The whole experience take 35 to 45 frightening minutes with a Scare Free option available for your less haunted friends.

What about general fall activities in the area? There are plenty of other activities to this fall. Head up to the Smokies and take in the fall foliage on a hike. Take gorgeous pictures for your social media pages. Experts recommend mid-October to early November to be the best time to go. You can also host a bonfire with friends or go camping with s’mores. The possibilities are endless this fall so get out there and make the most of this beautiful season of change.
