Regional Treats For Family Fall Fun Are Gearing Up In The Area

Halloween doesn’t have to be scary this year. For those of us with weaker dispositions for fright or anything spooky really there is hope to still enjoy this festive October holiday. Several family friendly events are taking place across the area before Halloween even begins! You can get in on the fun and enjoy Halloween early without any chance of encountering monsters or goblins.

If you are looking to take the kids to a trunk or treat event there are several area churches and businesses that are taking part this year no matter where you might live in East Tennessee. One of the most popular events that continues to grow each year with the Trunk or Treat event put on by Mt. Vale Church of God at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. This year, the fun takes place on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. This family friendly event features food, singing, face painting, and inflatables for the kids. Several other churches and businesses are partnering with the church for this free event.

Sweet Cake Bakery in Jefferson City is also holding their own Trunk or Treat event. This one will also take place on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Jefferson City Events Center. This family oriented event will feature Halloween music, nitro wrestling, and a touch the brain activity. There are also plenty of treats to be had right in the heart of Jefferson City.

Kidwell’s Ridge Baptist Church in Morristown will also use the 27th to hold their Trunk or Treat event. This rain or shine free event will feature a bounce house, inflatables for the kids, a hayride, games, a live band, fellowship, and tons of candy.

Historic Downtown Dandridge will be filled with tasty treats on Halloween night as several area businesses and vendors come together to make a fun filled family event.

If you live near the Knoxville area there are several Halloween events for you to take part in. For the little kids there is a Trick or Treat Event on October 29 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Knoxville. There will be face painting, games, and refreshments. Knoxville’s Boo at the Zoo event also takes place from several weeks in October leading up to Halloween. For the older kids looking to get in on the fun they may want to take part in Movies on Market Square with their showing of the beloved Halloween Classic Hocus Pocus. The movie will be screening in Market Square on Friday October 13, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

If you are in the Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg area, there are also options for you. In Pigeon Forge, on October 25th (the Thursday before Halloween) several vendors and businesses are getting together for a safe non-scary Halloween option for families. There will be candy and interactive displays. This event is free to the public.

Finally, Gatlinburg will be holding their annual Trick or Treat Kick of Karnival on Halloween night at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. The event is being put on by the Gatlinburg Fire and Police Departments from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with plenty of family events and lots of candy. Bring your little monsters out for all the fun. These events and more are available around the area to make the most of your Halloween. The important thing is to have fun and make memories.
