Jefferson County Spay Neuter Project Holds Successful Fundraiser

Chastidyi Parrott

A paint party held at The Dandridge Brewing Company on February 6, 2019 was a huge success, with all profit donated by artist Chastidyi Parrott to The Spay Neuter Project. The sold out event raised support dollars for the spaying and neutering of cats and dogs in Jefferson County, and help control pet overpopulation.

Fundraising is critical to raising money to help provide ultra low spay neuter options for residents. The Spay Neuter Project gained nonprofit status in August 2018 and facilitated spay/neuter surgeries for 200 pets in 2018. Plans are to fix 1000 Jefferson County cats and dogs in 2019. These efforts are made possible through donations and fundraising events and by residents who understand the only way to reduce the number of homeless animals is by fixing their pets.
