Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians Adds New Summer Camp Programs, Opens Resident Camp to Non-Girl Scout Members

New this year, our summer resident camp is adding five new camp programs and opening attendance up to non-Girl Scout members.

New camps for rising 4th through 8th graders include The World is Your Stage, Outdoor G.I.R.L., and STEAM into Camp.

The World is Your Stage runs June 9-13 and offers girls a space where they can hone their acting skills, learn how to apply stage makeup, and produce a play.

Outdoor G.I.R.L. runs June 16-20 and is for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to learn or improve their outdoor skills and practice being a Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, and Leader.

STEAM into Camp runs July 7-12 and is for the girls who love anything science, technology, engineering, art, and math! There will be lots of experiments and projects that will teach girls new skills and help them feel confident in these subjects.

New camps for rising 9th through 12th graders include SCUBA and Adventure Out!

SCUBA camp runs June 9-13 and provides girls with an opportunity to earn their SCUBA certification in just one week!

Adventure Out! runs July 21-26. During that week, girls will go whitewater rafting, learn water safety skills, and do more high adventure activities.

Summer camp is a great way to help girls grow in courage, confidence, and character. Statistics conducted by the Girl Scout Research Institute show that girls love getting outdoors, testing their skills, and learning new things.
