AEC Fills Vacancy on Board of Directors

Appalachian Electric Cooperative announced the appointment of the newest member of the Co-op’s Board of Directors. Bean Station resident Tim Collins has been named to fill the unexpired term of Dale Harris, who stepped down from the Board in February.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Tim to our Board,” says AEC General Manager Greg Williams. “He has shown a genuine interest in learning how he can best be of service to our members. Those living in AEC’s 7th District will be well-represented and the Cooperative as a whole will benefit greatly from his leadership.”

Collins is the principal of Rutledge Elementary School and serves as pastor of Adriel Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station.

He was born and raised in Jefferson City, graduated from Jefferson County High School, Carson-Newman University (BA, MA) and obtained his Ed.S from Lincoln Memorial University. Collins has worked as an educator for more than 20 years, including stints in both Jefferson and Grainger counties.

He lives in Bean Station along with his wife Christy and children Dylan, 20, Owen, 14, and Norah, 11.

“I’m very pleased to be joining a great group of AEC Directors and will be working hard to get up-to-speed so I can contribute to the work that lies ahead for the Cooperative,” says Collins. “I look forward to making a positive difference for our members.”
