HIT AND RUN CLAIMS MOTHER AND CHILD IN JEFFERSON CITY / 2 INJURED – 2 DEAD

Earlier this afternoon, just before 4:00 pm, unofficial credible sources reported that a mother and child being strolled on a sidewalk were killed due to a hit and run on W. Old Andrew Johnson Highway near the Sustainable Aquatics business front in old downtown Jefferson City, TN. Further according to sources, another pedestrian was struck by the same vehicle prior to striking the mother and child. This person received non-life threatening injuries. The suspects vehicle left the road and crashed into that same building. Responders were unable to enter the building at the time of this article due to the structural integrity of the building after the vehicle lodged inside.

Another eyewitness saw the vehicle driving at, “a crazy rate of speed” then lost sight of it until he heard the crash and parts flying through the air. This witness said he observed the vehicle lodge several feet inside the building. A fourth person was injured who was inside the building, but transported themselves to the hospital in their own vehicle.

The suspect was detained after trying to flee the scene by a citizen and was taken into custody claiming “the government told him to do it” according to eyewitnesses.
