Tennessee House Republicans Choose Jeremy Faison As Caucus Chairman

Members of the Tennessee House Republican Caucus chose State Representative Jeremy Faison (R-Cosby) as their Republican Caucus Chairman during a special caucus meeting held inside the Old Supreme Court Chamber.

As Republican Caucus Chairman, Jeremy Faison will preside over meetings and is the second ranking officer of the caucus. His duties include calling in conjunction with the Republican Leader, presiding and maintaining order at such meetings;  providing a forum whereby the will of the majority shall prevail, while protecting the rights of those whose views appear to be in the minority at a given time; establishing and maintaining communications with members regarding legislative matters; aiding and assisting the other officers upon their request; appointing a parliamentarian to advise the caucus of the House rules; coordinating with the Senate Republican Caucus Chairman to facilitate opportunities for joint Senate and House activities, events, and meetings, and supporting the Republican Leader with fundraising efforts.

Chairman Faison has strong institutional knowledge, fundraising, and political experience that will be critical in this Republican leadership positon. He is focused on building upon our recent priorities and successes so all Tennesseans know we are working to better their lives through fiscally responsible, conservative initiatives.

“I am incredibly humbled and honored to have the support of my colleagues to be their new Republican Caucus Chairman,” said Chairman Faison. “We had a successful 2019 legislative session, and I look forward to building upon our recent efforts so we can create more opportunities for all Tennesseans.
