INVITATION TO BID

The Jefferson County Purchasing Department will be accepting sealed bids for One (1) SPECIAL EDUCATION BUS for the Jefferson County Board of Education.

Special Education Bus with lift that meets all TN D.O.T. specifications.

Minimum Specifications include:

  • Meets all TN Specifications
  • 2016 or newer
  • Maximum 40,000 miles
  • ISB Cummins 6 cylinder 220 HP engine or equivalent
  • 36 passenger body converted to 24 seat
  • Air brakes
  • 1 wheel chair securement system
  • Air operated entrance door
  • Flush mounted wheelchair track to be installed on left side and length to be adequate for 1 wheel chair station
  • Front and rear flush mounted bulkhead air conditioning system required must be 80k-100,000k BTU
  • Lift door must be installed right side rear
  • Rear heater must be left side wall mounted
  • Passenger seats must have lap belts installed
  • White Roof

Sealed bids should be labeled “USED SPECIAL EDUCATION BUS” and either mailed to the Jefferson County Finance Department to the attention of Finance Director Langdon Potts, at P.O. Box 1749, Dandridge, TN, 37725, or dropped off at 1244 Gay St., Dandridge, TN, 37725.  Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at which time bids will be opened in the Finance Department conference room. Oral, email, and telephone bids will not be accepted.

Jefferson County reserves the right to ACCEPT OR REJECT any and all bids and to WAIVE ANY AND ALL IRREGULARITIES IN THE RECEIPT/HANDLING OF BIDS. THE AWARDED BIDDER MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON.
