JACK EDWARD ENOCH, SR.

James Edward Enoch, Sr., known to his family and friends as Jim, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2019 at the age of 79. Jim was married to his high school sweetheart, Janice Ann (Young) Enoch for 60 years. In addition to Jan, Jim leaves behind his two children and their families: son James Edward Enoch, Jr. (Sharon), grandchildren Laura Beth Calvert, Olivia Blair Enoch, Noah Spears Enoch and great grandchildren Isaac Vogler and Jessie Calvert (on the way); and daughter Jeri Ann Strong (James), grandchildren Alexandra Marie Strong and Nicholas Patrick Strong. He is also survived by his sister Shirley James and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Paris, Tennessee and grew up in Memphis. He graduated from Treadwell High School in 1958 where he met the love of his life. After serving a brief stint in the Marine Reserves, Jim joined the Navy in 1959 and trained in Aviation Electronics. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1963, Jim went to work for Burroughs Corporation/Unisys as a Field Engineer. He retired from that position in 2000 after 37 years of service. The next year Jim and Jan moved to Dandridge, Tennessee to be closer to their family.
Jim was baptized at National Hills Baptist Church. For the past several years he and Jan have been members of Shady Grove Methodist Church in Dandridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial be sent to Dandridge First United Methodist Church, designated to the Wednesday Night Meal Program, P.O. Box 8, Dandridge, Tn. 37725.
Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jason McIntosh officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the church. Interment will be 9:30 AM Monday, December 23, 2019 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.
