INVITATION TO BID – Blasting for Jefferson County Highway Department

INVITATION TO BID

The Jefferson County Purchasing Department will be accepting sealed bids for Blasting for the Jefferson County Highway Department. Bids will be for one year (1) from July 1, 2020 until June 30, 2021. An affidavit is required. For affidavit form and additional information contact Charles Tipton at 865-397-2155.

The Tennessee Blasting Law will be observed at all times. This will include the pounds per delay that are allowed to load according to the nearest dwelling to the shot that is not company owned. The pounds per delay allowance will be figured according to the formula contained in the Tennessee State Blasting Law. Equipment and personnel must meet the Department of Labor, Mine Safety, and Health Administration requirements. Bids should include a copy of your license and proof of insurance.

Blasting powder and materials for blasting approximately 3000 feet of six (6) inch holes.

Sealed bids should be labeled “BLASTING” and either mailed to the Jefferson County Finance Department to the attention of Finance Director Langdon Potts, at P.O. Box 1749, Dandridge, TN. 37725 or dropped off at 1244 Gay St., Dandridge, TN 37725. Bids will be accepted until 2:30 p.m. June 2, 2020, at which time bids will be opened in the Finance Department conference room. Oral, email, and telephone bids will not be accepted.

Jefferson County reserves the right to ACCEPT OR REJECT any and all bids and to WAIVE ANY AND ALL IRREGULARITIES IN THE RECEIPT/HANDLING OF BIDS. THE AWARDED BIDDER MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON.
