Richard Peterson New President and CEO of Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce

The Board of Directors of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the selection of Richard N. Peterson as our new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Rich previously worked for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/ALSAC, as the Senior Liaison for National Groups and Organizations. At St. Jude, Rich managed the planning and execution of the fundraising strategies used to develop new business relationships, and support existing corporate partnerships, for the benefit of the children and families at the hospital.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer for Justin Timberlake Enterprises, Rich was responsible at various stages for the implementation, project management, financial, and organizational structure of a wide variety of privately owned and joint ventured business lines; ranging from music entertainment, retail clothing distribution, the import/export of outdoor accessory gear, record label artists, films, investment fund marketing, and eco-friendly golf course management.

Prior to joining Justin Timberlake Enterprises, Rich was a Consumer Sales Business Development Manager at First Horizon National Corporation. At First Horizon, Rich designed and implemented corporate sales and incentive strategies, developed joint venture marketing and licensing relationships, and created and executed consistent brand and industry positioning strategies for bank products and services.

Preceding First Horizon, Rich was the General Council for Omega World Travel. At Omega Rich provided key in-house legal counsel and business strategy analysis to increase the asset valuation of a $50M real estate portfolio, improved risk assessment, and reduced liability regarding employment and labor issues.

Rich began his career founding his own private legal practice in Washington D.C., where his clients included the FDIC, RTC, National Public Radio, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Department of Interior, and multiple property management companies.

Rich holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech, and a Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law.

“The Board of Directors is thrilled to have Rich joining the Chamber’s family,” said Scott Schroeder, Chairman of the Board. “He is a wonderful addition and brings valuable knowledge and experience to the team.”

Rich will be starting Monday, August 3rd.

Sincerely,
Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce
