Tax Free Day Still A Go In Tennessee!

Despite rumors to the contrary, tax free day is still a go in Tennessee! This sales tax holiday is the perfect day to shop for the multitude of supplies your kids are going to need to start the new school year.
During tax free day clothing items, school supplies, and school art supplies $100 or less are free of any sales tax. Computers $1500 or less are also sales tax free, including laptops as well as tablets like iPads. Anyone, not just students, can get the benefits of buying these items starting on Friday, July 31 at 12:01 a.m., and ending on Sunday, August 2 at 11:59 p.m. You can find more detailed information and additional alphabetic listings of items on tax free day at tn.gov.

Many Tennesseans are expected to take full advantage of this weekend to buy any and all school supplies needed. Remember to check with your school’s website or your child’s teacher to get an updated supply list for this school year. The cost of all the notebooks, red pens, and colored pencils can add up, especially when your kiddos are expecting a whole new 2 kool for school wardrobe, making a sales tax free day something to look forward to.
