Jefferson County Schools announces the hiring of Mr. Trevor Collins as the new Director/Coordinator of Data and Accountability.

Mr. Collins most recently was serving in the Lenoir City School system as the Director of Special Education. Mr. Collins has also been a classroom teacher, Tennessee Reward School Ambassador, Professional Learning Coordinator, and regional data analyst for the Tennessee Department of Education’s East Core office. He also has worked with Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Tennessee as well as serving on multiple committees and leadership teams.

“We are excited to see Mr. Collins addition to Jefferson County Schools. He has a proven record for promoting academic improvements through supporting teachers and strong data analysis. His diverse experiences will allow him an opportunity to help our students and teachers continue to make improvements and academic gains.” (Johnston)

Mr. Collins will be working to analyze data associated with state testing at each school and then helping align appropriate professional development for teachers and staff. He will also use this data to help build a bridge between the Tennessee Department of Education through school and district strategic planning. ACT improvement will also be a focus area given to Mr. Collins.

Mr. Collins will begin work on January 19, 2021. The position was recently created through school board action to reallocate money within the budget.
