Quality Loss Adjustment (QLA) Program Deadline

QLA program provides assistance to producers who suffered eligible crop quality losses due to a natural disaster occurring in 2018 and 2019 according to James Giffin from Jefferson/Sevier/Cocke Farm Service Agency. The program offers assistance on quality loss based on producer’s harvest affected production of an eligible crop, which must have had at least a 5% quality loss, reflected a quality discount. The loss in quality must have occurred from a qualifying disaster in 2018 and 2019. Verifiable documentation of losses must be dated within 30 days of harvest.

Giffin said, the final date to sign up in the QLA program is Friday, March 5, 2021. More information on the QLA program is available on www.farms.gov/quality-loss.
