Parrott-Wood Memorial Library offering free computer classes via Zoom

Parrott-Wood Memorial Library (3133 W. Old. A.J. Hwy, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871) announces the next sessions of free computer classes via Zoom. Classes will be on Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00 pm. The library will allow up to 4 students to be in the library using their laptops for the classes or you may do all classes online from the safety of your own home. These classes are possible through a TOP Grant from the Tennessee State Library and Archives. February 9. 2022: Getting started with Microsoft Windows Part 2 – Organize and find your files and programs. 

February 16, 2022: Learn about computer safety. Staying safe on the internet.  Tracking all of those passwords. 

February 23, 2022:  Getting around the web. Searching for information, shopping and finding useful websites.  Setting up a Gmail account. 

March 16, 2022:  Getting started with Microsoft 365 Applications. We will Introduce applications like Word for creating text documents, Excel for creating spreadsheets and PowerPoint for creating slideshows and presentations. In the first class we will set up your free account for using all of the Microsoft programs.

March 23, 2022: Microsoft Word – Learn how to create a letter, flyer, resume or newsletter.  Find out about special features like inserting pictures or tables, changing font style, and adding borders.

March 30, 2022:   Microsoft Excel – The basics.  What is a spreadsheet and why would I want to use one? Learn how to create tables, format them and add some special features.

April 6, 2022: Microsoft PowerPoint – Learn how to create a slideshow presentation.   Use text, website links, photos and animations to create an engaging presentation.
